UK Gambling Commission investigates NFT soccer game Sorare

The UK gambling commission will investigate and determine whether or not fantasy NFT soccer game Sorare should be required to have a gambling license.

The inquiry into the popular NFT fantasy soccer game by the Gambling Commission in the UK came right after the game raised $680 million in a funding round last month. This comes as no surprise since the gaming segment reported the highest sales volume of the non-fungible token (NFT) market in 2020,

In a statement on their company’s blog, the fantasy soccer game denied it was involved in anything involved in regulated gambling. However, earlier this week, the Commission released a consumer information notice that Sorare is not currently licensed and consumers should take care when interacting with this site.

In addition, statistics show that Blockchain and gambling go hand to hand as it makes a game more secure.
