Ansu Fati agrees to a new long-term contract at Barcelona with a release clause of €1 billion

Ansu Fati has agreed on a new deal, which will keep him at Camp Nou for the next six years, becoming the second player from the club that will have a buy-out clause set at €1 billion. The teenager is regarded as one of the most valuable players born after 2000, and his price tag is currently at €116.2 billion.

Ansu Fati will officially sign the contract today and follow his team-mate Pedri’s footsteps, who also signed a new deal with an £842m release clause.

The wunderkind made his first appearance aged 16 and 298 days, making him the second-youngest player to debut for the Catalan giants. Since then, Fati has made 47 appearances across all competitions and has scored 15 goals, which is why he is labelled as one of the best young players in 2021.

After suffering a torn meniscus in his left knee back in November, Ansu Fati returned to action ten months later, and he already scored two goals in his five appearances this season.
After Lionel Messi left and signed for Paris St Germain this summer, the 18-year-old took the famous number 10 shirt in Barcelona.
