Oleksandr Usyk beats Anthony Joshua to claim heavyweight titles

British boxer Anthony Joshua, also known as one of the greatest boxers today, was unable to keep his heavyweight titles as he was dominated through the entire fight by the Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.

Although Joshua had the home advantage as the fight occurred in London in front of 66.267 fans, the 2012 Olympic gold medalist put on the performance of a lifetime and was able to claim the three heavyweight titles from Joshua.

Usyk claimed the IBF, WBA and WBO titles from the Brit, and he won the fight with scores of 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113.

After the fight, Usyk said that he has been working hard since January and that we still haven’t seen his best.

The Ukrainian will attend the heavyweight fight in Las Vegas between WBC champion Tyson Fury and ex-champion Deontay Wilder as he plans to fight the winner of that match. However, Joshua has a rematch clause, so Usyk will need to fight him again before taking the next step.

From a financial point of view, the fight failed to reach some of the most lucrative boxing matches like Mayweather vs McGregor.
