Djokovic wins Sixth Wimbledon

After an exhausting battle with Matteo Berrettini, Novak Djokovic won his sixth Wimbledon title and is now tied with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal with 20 Grand Slams.

The Serb played some excellent tennis and was able to come back after losing the first set of the match. Matteo Barretinni overcame a 5-2 Djokovic lead in the first set and forced the first set in a tie break, which he later won 7-4.

However, Djokovic is considered one of the best tennis players of all time for a reason. With some brilliantly played games, he was able to win the next three sets with 6-4, 6-4 and 6-3.

With his latest victory, Novak Djokovic has won three Grand Slam titles this year, and now, he set his sights on winning the US Open so he can complete all Grand Slam titles in 2021. If Djokovic continues his impressive form in the future, he’ll most likely surpass Roger and Rafa and become the player with the most Grand Slam titles in ATP history.

Ashleigh Barty wins WTA Wimbledon

The Australian was able to clinch her second Grand Slam and first Wimbledon title after winning in three sets against Karolina Pliskova. The 25-year-old Barty won 6-3, 6-7 and 6-4 and became the first Australian woman to win Wimbledon Goolagong Cawley in 1980. Additionally, with this Wimbledon win, Ashleigh Barty became the 20th woman in tennis history to earn more than $20,000,000 in prize money.
