After railing against corruption in the government and President Rodrigo Dutetre, one of the participants in the biggest fights in boxing history, Manny Pacquiao says he will run for Philippines president next year.
The ex-boxer is currently a senator and was nominated by his PDP-Laban party allies on Sunday during the group’s national assembly. This comes only days after the rival party nominated Senator Christopher “Bong” Go as its presidential candidate and current president Duterte as its vice president.
The 42-year old said that he is a fighter and always has been inside and outside of the ring as well, and he has never backed down from any fight, and he won’t do that now.
Manny Pacquiao is highly admired in the Philippines for his generosity and for hauling himself out of poverty and becoming one of the world’s greatest and wealthiest boxers.
Just to remind you of how great the Filipino’s boxing career really is, we can just divert to his numerous titles, which actually make him the boxer with the most world titles in different weight divisions.
