Atlanta Braves clinch first World Series title since 1995

The Atlanta Braves won the series against Houston Astros (4-2) with a 7-0 win at Minute Maid Park last night. It took Atlanta almost 30 years to get their hands on another World Series title, as the last one was won back in 1995.

Jorge Soler’s three-run homer in the third inning was crucial for the match, while further home runs by Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman just kept Atlanta in control of the match and the series. However, Max Fried also played an important role in this game as he kept the Astros quiet for six scoreless innings.

Although Houston was the more experienced side in this series as they were making their third World Series appearance in five years, they were only able to hit seven home runs across the six-match series.

The MLB was formed in 1903, and this was the fourth World Series title for the Atlanta Braves as they have previously won it in 1914, 1957, 1995, and now in 2021.
