Top 10 All-Time Most Hated People in Football

There are many people associated with football which people seem to hate. Football players, managers, and trainers have all done something in their personal lives or professional career fans find offensive or controversial. Or are they just bothered by their success?.

Read on and find out who are the most hated people in football. Maybe some of them are on your “can’t stand some people” list.

10 most hated people in football

Sepp Blatter

Ranking first, Joseph “Sepp” Blatter was born on 10 March 1936. He is a retired Swiss football administrator. He was also the eighth President of FIFA from 1998 to 2015.

He was accused and charged with fraud, mismanagement, misappropriation of FIFA funds, and document forgery. Since he put profit over the game, it is understandable that many fans simply hate him now.

Jose Mourinho

José Mário dos Santos Mourinho Félix was born on 26 January 1963. He is a Portuguese professional football manager and former football player. Currently, he serves as the head coach of FC Roma.

Even though he is one of the greatest and most decorated managers of all time, he has well earned his place on this list – good management, inappropriate behaviour. He treats his players, colleagues, and other football managers with disrespect. He personifies a bully vibe, and he appears to be getting worse as he gets older.

Harald Schumacher

Harald Anton “Toni” Schumacher was born on 6 March 1954. He is a former professional football goalkeeper from Germany. In 1984, he was named German Footballer of the Year. From 2012 to 2019, he was a vice president at FC Köln. Additionally, he has nothing to do with one of the most famous F1 drivers Michael Schumacher.

Perhaps the fact that he was once ranked higher than Adolf Hitler in a French newspaper poll shows how many people despise him. The reason for this is an incident from the 1982 World Cup in which he smashed with French player Patrick Battiston, putting him in a coma.

Michel Platini

Michel François Platini was born on 21 June 1955. He is a French football administrator and former player and manager. In the early 1980s, he was named European Footballer of the Year three times.

He was elected president of UEFA in 2006, but he was barred from participating in football in 2015 because of fraud, misappropriation, forgery, and being an accomplice to Blatter’s mismanagement. The ban will be in effect until 2023.

Richard Keys

Richard Keys was born on 23 April 1957. He is an English sports presenter. He has worked for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky, Talksport, Al Jazeera, Fox Sports, ESPN Star Sports, beIN SPORTS, and he has commentated on many top-level football matches.

People despise him because he made some very offensive “jokes” about his female colleagues. However, he is still trying to stay in the game and has shown no remorse for his comments.

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro was born on February 5, 1985 in Aveiro, Portugal. He is the captain of the Portugal national team and a forward for Manchester United.

He is a famous, talented player who has scored an impressive number of goals, which is one reason some people dislike him – his success. Others will argue that he is narcissistic and egoistic, which is why he does not appeal to them.

Luciano Moggi

Luciano Moggi was born on 10 July 1937. He is a former Italian football administrator and is well-known for the Calciopoli scandal in Seria A

He was working for FC Juventus, and the team had talented players and a good chance of progressing. But Moggi didn’t want to leave anything to chance – he influenced the selection of referees and manipulated the transfer market and contracts. As a result, the Italian Football Federation banned him from participating in football for life.

El Hadji Diouf

El Hadji Ousseynou Diouf was born on 15 January 1981. He is a retired Senegalese professional footballer that used to play as a winger or a forward.

But his behaviour was, to say the least, troubling. He was accused of racially abusing a ball boy and spitting on his opponents and their fans. Few people have positive things to say about him as a result of his behaviour.

Pete Winkelman

Peter John Winkelman was born on 9 November 1957. He is the current chairperson of the English football club Milton Keynes Dons. He is also the managing director of the Inter MK Ltd property development consortium.

He gained a lot of criticism by relocating FC Wimbledon to Milton Keynes and renaming the club MK Dons.

Neymar

Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior was born on 5 February, 1992. He is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for FC Paris Saint-Germain and the Brazil national team.

This is what turned the audience against him. When he collides with other players, he overacts and overreacts. Nevertheless, he may have a promising future in the world of acting.
