Mason Mount made his England senior debut in 2019 against Bulgaria, and now he has become one of the most important players in Gareth Southgate’s EURO team. Although it is still early to compare Mason to the many legends that Chelsea has, he is undoubtedly one of the Premier League players to watch in the future.

Jack Grealish

(Aston Villa/ Manchester City)

Jack Grealish is an English international who plays for Manchester City, after recently moving from Aston Villa in a record £100 million deal. The talented trequartista played through all of Ireland’s youth teams before deciding to play for  England’s U21 in 2016. Jack Grealish made his England senior debut in September of 2020 in a goalless Nations League draw against Denmark.

Marcus Rashford

(Manchester United)

Marcus Rashford is a 23-year-old England striker that plays for Premier League giants Manchester United. He is a Man Utd youth academy graduate and made his debut under Louis Van Gaal, being probably the best thing that the Dutch manager did for Manchester United.

In 2020, he became a member of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of his efforts to help vulnerable children during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Ruben Dias

(Manchester City)

Ruben Dias from Portugal is a world-class defender, and probably one of the best signings Pep Guardiola has made in his career. He started out in Benfica, transferring to Man City in 2020, and becoming one of the most expensive players in the Premier League.

At just 24 years of age, Ruben Dias, alongside centre-back partner John Stones, made Man City defence probably the best one in the world right now. Ruben Dias’stats, since he introduced himself to English football, just proved what sort of talent we’re dealing with. The Portuguese centre-back had a big part to play in City winning the Premier League title and reaching the Champions League final. He also helped teammate Ederson win the Golden Glove with a phenomenal 19 clean sheets during the 2020/21 Premier League season. He was the first defender to win the Premier League Player of the Season after Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk in the 2018/19 season.

Ruben Dias is currently valued at €75.00m, but it’s expected that his value will only rise in the future as he is one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

Heung Min Son

(Tottenham)

Heung Min Son is a Spurs legend already. At the age of 16, he joined the German club Hamburger SV, then went to Bayer Leverkusen. When he joined Tottenham Spurs in 2015, he became the most expensive Asian player in history, in a £22m deal.

Although Tottenham did not book any of the places leading to European competitions this year, Heung Min Son’s stats show that he was one of the best players for the North London club. With his teammate Harry Kane, he set a new record for most combined goals by a duo in a single Premier League season. During the 2020/21 season, Heung Min Son’s goals and assists were one of the main driving forces for the Spurs. He finished the season with seventeen goals and ten assists.

The South Korean international made his national debut in 2010 and has had over 80 appearances for South Korea to date. Additionally, he has won the South Korean Footballer of the Year award six times.

Bruno Fernandes

(Manchester United)

Bruno Fernandes is a Portuguese player that plays as an attacking midfielder for Man Utd. His career began in Serie B in Novara, and after that, he played for Serie A teams Udinese and Sampdoria. However, it was not until 2017 when he introduced himself to the bigger scene in European football with Sporting from Portugal. At only 23 years old, the Portuguese maestro was named club captain, making him one of the youngest captains in Sporting’s history. In 2020, Fernandes became a part of one of the biggest clubs in Europe, Manchester United, and it did not take long for him to make a massive impact in the Premier League.

Bruno Fernandes’ stats for the Red Devils were the main reason why he won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for two years in a row. The 27-year-old midfielder had an incredible season in 2020/21, scoring 18 goals and making 12 assists in the Premier League, helping Man Utd finish second in the league and reach the Europa League final.

Bruno Fernandes does not have the same numbers when it comes to international football, but he is nevertheless an integral part of Portugal’s squad and is one of the key players for coach Fernando Santos.

Kevin De Bruyne

(Manchester City)

We can easily put the Belgium international among the best Premier League midfielders of all time. Kevin De Bruyne is a Manchester City player these days, but he started his Premier League career in CIty’s rivals, Chelsea. De Bruyne also played for Genk in Belgium and one season in the German Bundesliga for Wolfsburg.

Since he joined City, he has become the key figure in Pep Guardiola’s squad and has helped them win three Premier League titles and break several records along the way. Kevin De Bruyne’s stats in the last couple of years have been off the charts. During the 2019/20 season, he equalled Thiery Henry’s record with 20 assists. In the 2020/21 season, there were less Kevin De Bruyne assists and goals to talk about, but that was mostly due to an injury that made him miss ten Premier League games.

The Belgian is undoubtedly one of the best Premier League midfielders ever and is no surprise that he is the highest-paid player in the Premier League. He has many individual awards as well. He won the Players “Player of the Year” award twice in a row and won the Premier League Playmaker of the Season award in 2020.

Mohammed Salah

(Liverpool)

Mohamed Salah from Liverpool,  also known as the “ Egyptian King” in Merseyside, is already a legend for the “Reds”.The Egyptian started his European adventure in the Swiss league in Basel but was later bought by Chelsea. However, he did not play much there (see a trend with Chelsea?) and was later loaned to Fiorentina and Roma. It was Roma that kickstarted his career on the highest level, and in 2017 he joined one of England’s most successful and popular clubs.

Although many people said that he would be a “one-season wonder”, Mohamed Salah’s stats show just how consistent he has been since joining Liverpool. He has scored 99 Premier League goals and 36 assists so far in just 161 appearances. He has won everything with Liverpool, including the Champions League and Premier League trophies. He was the top goalscorer of the Premier League two times in a row on an individual level.

One of the many reasons Mohamed Salah makes our list and is ranked among the Premier League’s best players is that he became the fastest football player in Liverpool’s history to score 100 goals across all competitions in England.

Harry Kane

(Tottenham)

With only 28 years of age and an 11-year professional football career, the 28-year old Spurs striker is already among the best English players of all time.

One of the most interesting facts about Harry Kane’s career is that it started at Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur’s biggest rival. He didn’t spend much time at Arsenal’s youth academy, though, and by 2010 he signed a professional contract with Tottenham.

At the beginning of his career, he was loaned to Norwich and Leicester City, and in 2013, Andre-Villas-Boas made the young Englishman his main striker at Spurs, which was probably one of the best decisions he has ever made.

Since then, Harry Kane’s stats have been nothing short of incredible. For example, he is the second-fastest player in Premier League history to score 100 goals and the third to be named the top scorer in the Premier League for three seasons. This year he ended the 2020/21 season with 23 goals and 14 assists, making him the player with the most goals and assists.

The young Englishman has won many individual awards, but it seems that the only thing missing to rank among the best ever Premier League players are trophies. He has had numerous chances to go to more successful clubs, but, for now, he remains faithful to the Spurs.
